Long-Time Resident Uses Local Knowledge To Sell Homes
Lisa Wheaton has joined Barefoot Realty Group as a Realtor® specializing in residential and manufactured homes. Having worked in retail sales for 12 years, Lisa decided to move into real property sales and hasn’t looked back. For the past five years, she has guided buyers and sellers helping them either find the home of their dreams or sell their home for the best price.
“A real estate sale is different from any other type of sales. It’s a privilege to help people find a home that meets their needs and they are excited about moving into,” says Lisa, who believes her extensive knowledge of the Pinellas County area is a plus in helping buyers and sellers, as she has lived in St. Petersburg since 1970.
She also has manufactured home sales experience and understands the differences between a resident owned or rental mobile home community. “Pinellas County has all types of resident owned manufactured home communities including cooperatives, subdivisions and even condominiums. It’s important to be able to explain the differences to potential buyers so they understand what they are purchasing,” says Lisa.
Marty Pozgay, broker/owner of Barefoot Realty Group, is excited about the caring approach Lisa takes with homeowners. “Lisa is not only knowledgeable about the details of a sale, she has a great personality that will make buyers or sellers feel comfortable and confident that they have the best salesperson for them. That’s crucial in this business.”

Experienced Broker Sees Trend
An experienced Broker/Realtor with a specialty in manufactured home sales has joined Barefoot Realty Group. Debbie Brown, who has lived in the Tampa Bay area for 35 years, brings eight years experience in real estate sales operating her own company, Deb Brown Realty, for the past two years.
Prior to real estate, Brown was co-owner of Autohaus Parts, a Mercedes repair, sales and parts dealership, for 28 years.
In addition to her real estate license, Brown has a mobile home dealer’s license, which allows her to sell new manufactured homes directly from manufacturers to buyers.
Choosing a waterfront, gated manufactured home community to place a new home is a trend that Brown is seeing today. “Baby boomers are turning to manufactured homes for their new retirement home,” says Brown, who has set up several new homes in Americana Cove, a 758-space waterfront community in St. Petersburg.
“Buyers find a waterfront lot that they like, then pick out a new home to put on the lot. The new manufactured homes today don’t even begin to compare to the trailers of 20 years ago. They have as many features as a site-built home, yet are manufactured in a factory so there are considerable cost savings,” says Brown.
According to Broker/Owner Marty Pozgay of Barefoot Realty Group, the organization is excited about having Brown become a part of the Barefoot Team.
“We are very selective about who we hire, because we have high standards for our associates. Debbie brings excellent skills and knowledge to our office, and we’re proud to have someone with her reputation as a part of our team,” Pozgay says.

Manufactured Home Expert Joins Firm
Lee D. Vogt has joined Barefoot Realty Group, St. Pete Beach, FL, as a Realtor® bringing 17 years experience in the home appraisal and inspection business to his position. As an independent appraiser, Vogt conducted more than 4,000 manufactured home appraisals for lending institutions such as Bank of America, Sun Trust Bank, and Wachovia Bank.
“Lee brings a unique perspective to real estate sales as his knowledge and experience with appraisals and home inspections helps him evaluate properties on behalf of his clients,” says Broker/Owner Marty Pozgay.
Vogt will specialize in manufactured housing in resident owned communities since Pinellas County is the second county in the state with the most manufactured homes. “More than one million people in Florida live in manufactured housing. We are pleased to serve this vital marketplace,” says Pozgay.
In Florida, manufactured homes deemed as real property can be sold by the owner of the home or a licensed real estate professional. There are more than 50 mobile home cooperatives or subdivisions in Pinellas County where homes that have a share or deed are viewed as real property and require the services of a real estate salesperson if the owner doesn’t sell the home himself.

Waterfront Specialist Joins Company
C.H. (Skip) Long has joined Barefoot Realty Group, St. Pete Beach, FL, as a broker/salesperson. Long brings considerable experience to the real estate company having been a broker in Pinellas County for 30 years. He owned a real estate company specializing in waterfront properties in Clearwater, Fl. In addition to his real estate experience, Long is a licensed insurance specialist focusing on commercial lines.
“I’m delighted that we are being joined by such a high quality individual who brings so much talent and expertise to our office,” says Marty Pozgay, broker/owner of Barefoot Realty Group. “I’ve personally known Skip for 20 years and understand how his warm personality and abundant knowledge make people feel at ease and confident that they have the best expert working for them.”
Barefoot Realty Group is the premier waterfront specialists in St. Pete Beach, Florida. The company specializes in both commercial and residential real estate with an emphasis on waterfront property.
Barefoot Realty Group opens office in St Pete Beach, FL
Barefoot Realty Group, a subsidiary of Florida Community Services Group, relocated its offices from Treasure Island, Fl to St. Pete Beach, FL. The office opened on January 4 and is located at 5955 Gulf Winds Drive, across from the Tradewinds Hotel.
Broker/Owner Marty Pozgay has more than 30 years experience buying and selling real estate both residential and commercial, in the Tampa Bay market and throughout Florida. Since 2000, he has brokered more than $400 million in real estate sales and purchases.
Pozgay is comfortable working with individual clients wanting to buy or sell a home to working with large nationwide companies with diversified portfolios. "No matter how small or large the transaction, all our clients expect the same result," explains Pozgay. "They want to sell at the optimum price and they want to buy at or below market value. It's up to us to help them meet those expectations."
Although it is a challenging real estate market, Pozgay believes it is ripe with opportunity and stresses time managment as one key to fulfilling the needs of a client. "We don't waste the time of a buyer by showing them properties that don't meet their criteria or exceed their price range, and we don't try to steer them only to our listings," explains Pozgay. "For sellers, we don't waste their time parading nonqualified prospects through their home."
Technology is another key. "The days of the Sunday newspaper ad and open house are gone. Having a solid website that's both informative and user friendly is the ultimate sales tools," says Pozgay.
According to the National Association of Realtors Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, 2008, "eighty-seven percent of all home buyers used the Internet to search for homes."
But the website has to be advertised strategically to draw traffic worldwide, Pozgay emphasizes. "The more people drawn to our website the more opportunity there is to sell homes. It sounds simple but many real estate professionals don't take full advantage of technology. Our goal is to have our clients experience the difference."
